How to choose a suitable electric wheelchair?

Weight and demanded use related.

Electric wheelchairs were originally designed to enable autonomous movement around the community, but as family cars become popular, there is also a need to travel and carry them around frequently.

The weight and size of an electric wheelchair must be taken into account if it is to be carried. The main factors that determine the weight of a wheelchair are the frame material, the battery and the motor.

Generally speaking: an electric wheelchair with an aluminium frame and lithium battery of the same size is approximately 7-15kg lighter than an electric wheel with a carbon steel frame and lead-acid battery. For example, Ningbo Bachen’s lithium battery, aluminium frame wheelchair weighs only 17kg, which is 7kg lighter than the same brand with the same aluminium frame, but with lead-acid batteries.

Generally speaking, lighter weight indicates more advanced technology, materials and techniques adopted, and greater portability.

Durability.

Big brands are more reliable than small brands. The big brands consider the long-term brand image, the material is sufficient, the process is elaborate, the selected controller, motor are better, some small brands because the brand influence is not, mainly by fighting the price, then the material, process is inevitably jerry-built. For example, Yuyue is our national leader in home medical equipment, and Hupont is a participant in the development of our new national standard for wheelchairs, and the 2008 Paralympic Games ignition ceremony was held with a Bachen wheelchair. Naturally, they are made of genuine materials.

In addition, aluminium alloy is light and strong, and compared to carbon steel, it is less susceptible to corrosion and rust, so it is naturally more durable.

There is also the fact that lithium batteries last longer than lead-acid batteries. The lead-acid battery is charged 500 to 1000 times, while the lithium battery can reach 2000 times.

Safety.

Electric wheelchairs, as medical devices, are generally speaking guaranteed to be safe. All are equipped with brakes and safety belts. Some also have anti-backward tilting wheels. In addition, for wheelchairs with electromagnetic brakes, there is also a ramp automatic brake function.
